Hi, I've been pulling my hair out trying to find K2SO4 with proper labelling of the stuff so that I be sure it is pure. I haven't had any luck :( , so I'm considering using KCl. For those of you who use it:
1) Is it a safe and effective alternative?
2) How much do you use?
3) Where did you purchase it?
4) What is the brand name that you use?
Thanks.

Has anybody used NoSalt as a source of KCl? It contains Potassium chloride as it's first ingredient, potassium bitartrate, adipic acid, fumaric acid, silicon dioxide and mineral oil.

Im not entirely sure about the potassium chloride question, but those additives don't sound good.
I read recently on here from Tom Barr about a nice source of Potassium Sulfate that is pure from www.litemanu.com. Its listed under Plant Nutrients, - Chemicals. It comes in 1lb bags, you probably would want to order multiple bags at once if you will be using a lot. I ordered just one the first time and realized after doing some math I will probably run out of 1lb after 6 months. They are a lot smaller than they seem when you order :).
They also have Potassium Phosphate and Potassium Nitrate as well. I ordered from them and am very happy with the results. Might give them a try if you want to stick with the K2SO4.

I use a KCl in the form of water softener crystals found at Home Depot. Its usually comes in a 40lb bag but I just pick up a few pieces off the floor from a broken bag or just loose crystals that didn't make it in the bags. Anyway, I haven't had any problems with it so far. I'm not sure if it helped or not because I do not know what potassium deficency looks like in plants. Your safest bet would be to use K2SO4 but if its not available then KCl works just fine.

http://www.hydroponics.com/ was recommended for some K2SO4 for Canadian residents. I placed an order and will be receiving some in a few days. Thanks to all for your help.
