From the discription of a red finned loach I tend to think it's just a dyed one of these but not sure. My lfs has them. They are blue with orange fins. I can't find anything online for rt blue loach. So what do you guy's think are these blue red tailed loaches just dyed versions of the orange finned loach or what? I would buy one if I didn't think it's blue would fade away. Thanks in advance for any replies, and if you have any experience with these fish please inlighten me. niner

Botia modesta and some other closely-related Botias.. Go to Loaches-on-Line for pix and details.

They dip them now in Malaysia and Singapore to make them bluer. Don't buy those. They should fade to silvery under the belly. A wonderful shy Botia.

I have a pair of Modestas...they are charming loaches, and get along well with my clowns and yoyos.
