suggestions needed

I'm looking to set up a freshwater planted tank because right now I don't have the time or the money to get into saltwater and reef setup. I love the color that comes with a reef tank and I was wondering what kind of suggestions you might have to liven up the color situation in a frestwater planted tank to give it more of an attractive look.
