I recently ordered from liveaquaria.com. I ordered 6 platies, 6 julii cories and 3 otos. The otos were backordered. I received the platies and cories. 1 platy and 1 cory died within 4 hours of arrival. The rest seemed to be beautiful, healthy fish. 3 more platies died over the weekend but one of them gave birth so it's entirely possible that she died in childbirth and the other 2 died from sitting in the tank with a dead fish for 12 hours (the two that survived were tuxedos so I assume they are heartier than the other more inbred varieties).

My 7 surviving fish are beautiful and thriving and handled the transfer out of QT well. I have 3 surviving fry.

The guy on the phone was very helpful and courteous. I would cautiously order fish from them again. I will wait until summer, however. This was my first time ordering fish online and I wouldn't call it a complete success but it is still one of the better options for certain kinds of fish that are hard to find locally. Still, I will also try ordering more common, less expensive fish again before I tried ordering something more exotic.

They have a money back guarantee but that doesn't take shipping into account. I basically ordered the minimum number of fish I thought it was worth paying shipping for. Once you count my losses, I ended up paying more for shipping than for the fish.

I've ordered a number of fish -- at least 6 different shipments over the past 6 months -- from LiveAquaria and only had one DOA cherry shrimp and one "injured" guppy, who fully recovered.

IME they are one of the best places to order from.

***************** is also a good online supplier of fish. I've had two shipments from them with no problems.
