I was wonerding if it would be alright to put my male betta fish in my 10g tank with 3 neon tetras, 2 marble mollies, and a pleco. I don't know if any of these fish have a history of tail nibbling, or they just wont get along.

NOO! I once had a betta in a 20g tank, BIG mistake, bettas are just way too mean, i had a variety of fish (angels, mini-goldfish, guppies, and neon tetras) and the betta bit the tail of all of them (even the angels which where way bigger than him) also killed 2 of my gups...
I don't recomend it... but it's up to you girl.

Magb shares the horror story of bettas. The other side is that they get along fine with a variety of fish.
In your situation you might have trouble between your neons and betta, I think neons are nippy. I have also heard of bettas eating them up.
Betta's have different prsonalities. I had 2 I used in my tank, one worked one didn't. the key is that you try the betta in the tank with net in hand to remove problems...have another holding thing nearby for what ever fish you take out. Wait by the tank for a while and also chieck frequently, since some take action when the lights go out. Be on top of behaviours for a week, as the betta acclimates. Alot of ppl on here have bettas in community tanks, including myself.
gudelines of matching bettas and others is that they do good with other community fish (mollies, cories, loaches, ADF's, ghost shrimp, white clouds). They fight those who seem to have colorful finnage like guppies, gold fish, and possibly tetras. Instinctually they think it's another betta. they also fight female bettas, to protect the young that the females would otherwise eat.
Depends on the betta- I've got 2 in a setups like that (no neons, just a few platies and a few corys), but my mom's betta *constantly* chases after teh corys in his tank - doesn't seem to bother them though. THey ignore him, no fin nipping on them, etc.
In your case, I'd bet that the tetras will nip more at teh betta...

I agree that the neons may nip at your betta. As for bettas in community tanks, it all depends on the betta. Mine has been with guppies, cories, 2 types of loaches, rasboras, otos and a variety of snails and he does very well, never bothers anyone and no one chases him. As was suggested to you, if you try it just really be on the watch and ready to remove him or the offending fish. good luck :D
