Here's a good article about treating ich with salt and elevated temps, IME way better than any of the medications you buy at the store.

too late, i already read the article... so..erm.. does malachite green kill usefull bacteria....anyone??

I don't know if it will kill benefitial bacteria or not but IME it does tend to kill your fish. Just my opinion.
