White clouds would probably prefer a bit bigger tank, along with pretty much all other fish. A beta would probably be your best bet, or some snails or something.

a planted shrimp tank if you got the light for it and a heater

Bettas don't belong in an unheated bowl.

Is this a hex shape tank or one of the all glass 2 1/2gallon rectangular tanks ? The rectangular tank is a much better shape, more options there.

African dwarf frogs, snails, shrimp, red bellied newts, if you can fix something up so they can get up out of the water when they want to. Not necessarily all of these at once though. Have a lid on the tank BTW...

A nice little school of male endlers I think might do...I don't think they need heated water, so check on that, but I'm not sure how well a bunch of all males would get along without females. I say all males only because they stay quite a bit smaller than the females...they're also prettier :D

I don't believe any of those options need a heater..I KNOW the frogs and newts don't, but I'm not sure about the shrimp, I suppose it depends on what type you get.

There are little HOB nano filters you can put on a tank that size as well. Would be a good idea to filter in some way....but you'd still need to keep on top of regular water changes...once a week.

I'm sure if there is anything wrong with any of these suggestions...someone will pipe in about it....lol.....but there's some ideas to kick around and do some research on anyway.

glass shrimp can survive unheated ponds so id assume they would male it at room temp

Heres an idea.....

In the middle he wants some of those pond weedy type plants.
He wants a couple of glass shrimp(if we can find any)
And a couple of minnows.

well

Here's a page with a pic and some info on the nano filter. I believe RedSea has a version of this type of filter and I've heard that it's actually a bit better than the azoo brand.

pond/stream minnows (I think that's what you mean) are not a good idea. They need current in the tank and need a bit more space than 2 gallon.

Ghost shrimp are pretty easy to find at Petco/Petsmart/Walmart and can be really fun to watch. I don't know about the minnows but don't they like to school? Sounds like not enough room to have a whole school. Why not a betta...they are so pretty and that is a good size to put one in...

sorry, misread I guess...
I stilll say no..... 2 gallons isn't a lot of room for much...

1. that palm filter is awesome.

2. i think that if your house is warm enough, there shouldn't be a problem keeping a betta. im sure some people will argue, saying that they need a heater but i've had a few live long lives without them.. just make sure the temperature is study and doesnt change much.

Y'know that's two pieces of bad advice in like 10 minutes (one in this post and one in the "What Can I Put In My 1 Gallon" post). And you didn't spell steady right, so I wonder if it's just that you're too young to know better, or just like being contrarian.

A betta should have a decent setup, unless you want to have an unhealthy fish. I bet I could strap someone to a toilet and feed them only mashed potato in a room kept at 50 degrees and they'd probably live for a few years. They wouldn't enjoy it, but for awhile they'd survive.
