Woot! I am getting another tank tomorrow! a 20L. I am moving my Kuhli loaches in there (I have 8 now) and getting some guppies. This will be Sam's (JD) food. The others just do not reproduce enough.
I will be moving substrate, filter and plants to the 20L and eventually will move the ac70 from the 30gal and add a eheim ecco 2233 (got for free, just have to replace impeller and maybe the shaft) to the 30gal. The 10gal will turn into my snail breeding tank and the 5 i might try and raise brine shrimp.
Once i have successfully hatched and then raise the BS i would like to try a brackish tank. I am thinking a f8 puffer and bumblebee gobys.... now just to get all these plans into action....!!!

The good news is I am getting married!!!!! The bad news is that my fish have only received tank maintenance all summer long (and now fall). My big dreams for all my tanks have been put aside… I am “downsizing” well, really, just not buying all the tanks I had planned… but it feels like downsizing. The plus is that once I move all my tanks 100 miles away, they will stay put for many years to come!
Now I am rethinking… I have given some fish away (i fixed up our tank at work) and now am looking to trade in some fish and go another direction. We are having one “show” tank, a guppy breeding tank with kulhi loaches, and Sam’s tank (JD.)
The new plans:
75gal
Fish:
5 -Yoyo loaches (cant get any zebra loaches around here that live at the LFS through the week!!!)
1 -Ram
3 -Cockatoo Dwarf Cichlids
1 -Bristlenose Pleco Ancistrus sp.
15-20 -Some sort of schooling fish…
It will be medium to heavily planted. I am going to make a foam/cement rock structure. And I am hoping over part of our honeymoon we will build 2 CO2 canisters!
The 20 gal has 4 females and many male guppies, and 8 kuhli loaches. It has turned into a great source of food for Sam!
The 58 now contains Sam since the 30 gal sprung a leak. He is once again sitting in his cave doing nothing… As soon as some more guppy fry are large enough, I will put some in with him and see if that brings him out.
I really want to keep my turquoise severum, but I don’t think I would have great luck with him in the 75 gal… I know they are peaceful and mine is great so far, but he is small yet… Plus the whole plant thing…. Mine leaves plants alone right now… I have been reading a lot, and finding little information… maybe it is time to ask a question…
