I'm trying to compare the following....I'm not sure if is an apples to apples comparison or not. I don't know the quality of these items, or what else I'm going to have to get...so opinions please:

Anybody have one? What;s the scoop? any good? What else do you need to make it owrk, and where do you get the carbon "bars"

Any help/feedback you can give is helpful.
 
I was always interested in the carbon electrolysis CO2 devices too... Seemed worth a look. Hopefully someone out there's tried e,.

Apart from number 4, they are fairly similar in what you would be paying for a setup. Number 2 has everything with it so is convenient but then it's not hard to find tubing, a timer and a diffuser. I have to admit that I also prefer a regulator with the bubble counter attached.

The JBJ and Milwaukee regulators do seem to be the most popular but, as always, I've heard both good and bad about them. I've been using a JBJ for 14 months but I would also try a Milwaukee or any of the other regulators there. Obviously if someone chimes in with bad experiences then you might reconsider.

The carbo kit, IMHO is not even worth looking at. I can't believe the price for something that will never be as efficient as compressed CO2.

I have the Milwaukee and it works great, I do find it to be a little touchy and hard to get it exactly where I want it, but this is my first one so I have nothing to compare it to.

I use the ozone resistant tubing and a Rena ceramic micro bubble diffuser.

From what I've read the carbo bar refills are something like $6 a piece and they are only good for small tanks. The bars don't last long at all, either.
