hi! i bought 3 german blue rams yesterday, 1 male and 2 female. however as soon as they were released into my tank the male and one of the females have been on one side of the tank and the other female is at the other side of the tank hiding.
was i wrongly advised to buy 3? would it be ok for me to buy another male to pair with the other female and would he get on with the male i have already?
any answers would be a help!!

Buying 3 is okay, if you want to get a pair out of the batch. Rams are monogamous, so what you are describing is what I would have expected to occur. How big is the tank?

If the tank is 36" long or more, you could try another male. They may squabble on occasion, but should settle down.

If it's smaller than that, you can do one of two things. First, if your other female is not being harassed and seems to be comfortable on her side of the tank, then you could just keep her. If she is being harassed, I would suggest taking her back.

Emg, Sully, either of you care to agree or disagree? :D
