in the past few days i have noticed a new color develop on my female pink convict. on the outer edges of her dorsal an anal fins she has a metallic yellow. i have never seen or heard of this on convicts before. what do you guys think?
Awesome. I hear they're a lot more colourful in the wild, which is one of the reasons people believe Honduran Red Points are argued to be a colour variant of the Convict. Apparently they develop many variations throughout their native range, from yellows and reds to blues and greens.
i got her from petco about 2 weeks ago. she is in with a black male. im hoping for calico babies, at least some of them. ive been told it wont work and i have been told that is how you get calico or "marbled" convicts. so i will have to see for myself when they start having them. and no i am not usually a fan of petco, but i had seen a really nice female there a few days before, but they just had this little girl left.
i know thet will breed, i was told that it wont work to mix them and get calicos, then someone else said it will. did yours get big enough to see what kind of colorations they would have gotten?
