How do you know if a fish is pregnant, I have a red comet platy (only platy) that I've had since Dec 30. It's belly has enlarged alot and I was just wondering if this is from overeating or pregnant. I'd like to know because my Silver Malty had babies and ate them all, so I'd like to prevent if possible.

Speaking of my silver malty, it has ick, I have "Quick Cure" for fast relief of ick and other parasites, is this okay? it's a blue liquid and turns the water blue temporarily. I'm still cycling and in the middle of daily water changes to get my ammonia and nitrite levels down to 0. Anyone else use it, is there a safer product?

Thanks everyone :duh:

Give Salt a try and going back to LFS to kick him in the a@@

Thanks Bitsy,

I've printed the link and will adopt the salt method through my water change tonight. I'm a bit nervous since I'm new to this hobby but the experts know more then I do so I'll give it a try.

In reference to these LFS who continue to push and sell products that are harmful (quick cure, cycle), it makes it very difficult for a newbie to know who to trust. The LFS I bought the quick cure from said that it would not be harmful to the fish or invironment.

Thanks for your help and everyone on this forum. :bowing:
