What to feed my otos

You can feed them boiled spinach, peas, etc. Most green, especially leafy veggies I hear are good. Thing is. they prefer algae. Let them eat that as much as possible. Also, you could buy sinking wafers meant for herbivores. I have some spirulina tabs that I feed sometimes, though my otos do fine with algae.

Seedless cucumber, zucchini, and romaine lettuce are the big three that I feed my otos. They prefer the cucumber over anything else. Once in a while I also give them baby spinach. I alternate feedings between veggies and HBH veggie wafers, which they love. I prefer to buy organic produce for my fish, but as long as you blanch the vegetables first it is safe for them.

Otos

My girlfriends otos love spinach, in fact they eat it more than algae. Is this normal? Her otos love the spinach as fresh as possible, they stop eating it when it becomes too soft. Anyways, from what i remember her otos will eat spinach, zucchini, and potatoes. They wont go near the algae wafers.

She doesn't blanch the spinich before feeding because her otos prefer the spinach as fresh as possible.

Try it that way, she's had them for 8 months and they are going strong!
