ok i have a 29 gallon brackish water tank and the sg is about 1.006 as of now. i am increasing it daily. i ran bio-spira in the tank to jumpstart the cycling process. i've got great filtration and a nice penguin 660 powerhead. plenty of cover for the fish to go into (some decor caves at the bottom). my question here is i know that GSP are supposted to be aggresive fin nippers, mine does not seem to be he's about 1 1/2 inches long and he will eat out from my fingers and has been in the tank with a black molly and now my mono argenteus is following my GSP everywhere like swimming buddies. my GSP seems to enjoy the company and they even get 1/4 inch from each other and seem to just swim around. do i still need to worry about my GSP hurting him or do you think they will be ok. i have a 75 gallon put on lay-a-way until i get my taxes back. so size isn't a problem when they grow up. btw my mono is about 2 inches now

Monos are fast-swimming schooling fish and get very large. IME they should not be alone and also IME a 75 is not big enough for a group.

your gsp is still young... aparently, as they get older they tend to become more aggressive.. i have had a couple of them mixed with figure 8's and random other fish.. unfortunately, i am now down to 1 gsp and 1 figure 8 due to something weakening my fish and them sucomming to the power of the filter intake. back to issue...

i have had guppies and gobies in the same tank with my puffers... to date, i have lost only 1 guppy to my gsp. my guppy is about the same size if not a little larger than yours... i have been told that if you get your puffers young and about same size as tankmates, they will be more likely to not injur thier then buddies later in life.... i personally have yet to see the later in life part yet, but considering how things have gone this far, i feel all will be ok.. now if only mine would eat the feeder guppies i try to give him....

Feeder guppies are not the correct food for GSP or F-8 puffers. They are not fish-eaters. They are crustacean (crabs and shrimp) and especially mollusk (snails and clams, etc.) eaters. Feeders will not keep their teeth under control - they are like rabbits and must have food to wear their teeth down or they overgrow.
