Ok, I know I need to use "Instant Ocean" or some sort of marine salt for BW but my ? is, that is just Sea Salt right? So can I use my sea salt I have? There is nothing added to it, just plain old Sea salt that I use to make body scrubs and bath salts with I add essential oils & such to it for what I make but the salt itself is just that Sea Salt I get it for about .59/lb at the local natural store, so it's cheap enough. I just wasn't sure if they add stuff to what you use for an aquarium or not so I didn't want to use it without asking first.

Thank you,

Ginger

No, sea salt is different than what's in Instant Ocean. Sea salt is made from dehydrated sea water, but when you add water again, it doesn't make true sea water. Synthetic salt mixes are formulated to make proper sea water. Complicated chemical reactions occur when these salts and water combine.

Wow, that was quick!! Thanks, I just thought before I spent any extra money I'd make sure, since I already have the sea salt

Thanks again,

Gin :D
