One of my molly fish has a swollen left gill. It doesnt seem to be bothering him, and its not discolored or anything. But it is a little bit larger than it should be thats for sure. Could sand be caught in there or something? Im assuming its not bacterial cause there's no signs of discoloration (altough one gill fell off, but i thought maybe he rammed against the log or something.) from what I understand parasites are easy to identify in the gills because of mucus.

hmm most fish live around dirt and sand and all kinds of crazy stuff in the water so you would think if it was sand it couldhandle getting it out.

-_- different people are saying different things, the pet store cant even tell me haha.

im not so sure its a parasite; the molly (female) that was in the tank with him is doing well. it may be bacterial. he isnt showing any signs of discomfort, im going to leave him for now, cause treating is hit and miss.
