But it might be a couple of years due to space constraints. However, I do like to plan early in order to work out any possible bugs before I run into them. I've found that most of my favorite fish are BW fish, so how could I not want to set up a tank?

Ideally, I'd like a 120G setup with the following:
5-6 monos
1 violet goby
Mollies, platties, guppies, swordtails, the usual livebearer setup.

Since most violet gobies and livebearers I've found are in FW setups in stores, I'd add them first in FW, then slowly acclimate them over. The monos near me are kept in a BW setup, so I'd have to add them later.

Man, I need a house.

What other equipment do you need for BW aside from the standard FW setup? And are there any plants tolerant of BW?

Oh, and could a pair of kribs do alright with them?

problems... first you need to research and find there salinity ranges. do you mean mono angels? also violet gobies like to school and a group of 3 or however you want should work. but you might want to add some variety to your cleaning crew. bumble bee gobys get to an inch and a half and they are great with dragons, probably combining schools with eachother. also If you are looking for color and something to safely fill the top, killies should do the trick.
If you can't wait for your 120, bummble bee gobies will be happy in a 10 with a few killies and livberars. also If you want something interesting thats brackish to tie you over as well, try mudskippers. look them up, and tell me if your interested and I'll tell you a bit on care.

The problem with Monos (both argenteus and sebae) is they require saltwater as adults, so are not true brackish fish. They start in freshwater as juvies, migrate to brackish as young-mid adults then move on to saltwater as adults, returning to freshwater to breed. So they will work for some time but will need a different home when adult. A Violet goby will work (they DO NOT school) nor do Bumblebee's (they are actually rather territorial. I would think a cool 120g tank would be a tank with some Anableps (four-eyed fish) and Mudskippers (to have both you will need a shore area), Archers, some larger livebearers (due to Archer), and you could do Kribs on the bottom. Just be careful that they will become very aggressive if they have kidlets.
As to plants most of the Anubias and the Java Fern and Java Lace both do very well along with others. Anyway, hope this helps and good luck!

MonoSebaelover, your a mud fan too? cool. you have a tank with 1 at the moment? so do 4 eyed fish require the shore, or are they strictly water at a shallow level
