Thats Role Playing Game, not Rocket Propeled Grenade.

I started playing D&D in '77, played until they overloaded the system with books. Since then.... Palladium(modified), Space:1889, Star Wars, Champions, Mage Knight, MechWarrior, SportsClix, etc....

As an old friend once put it, I'll try any game once. Twice if I didn't like it the first time.

I played RPG games a few years back during high school. But the guys I played with got WAY into the game. They would get to angry when things didn't go the way they wanted. Kinda drove me off, eventually I just quit and never went back.

MTG once in awhile. 40+ kick@ss decks.... not really an RPG... closest I come there is the FF series.

Hey, I played D&D a few times back in the 70's. I always wanted to be the hobbit...I have NO idea why ! Lol....guess I thought they were cute, and I had read "The Hobbit" and liked the book.

As far as PC reality type games...the best I've played so far has to be the "Morrowind/Elder Scrolls" series. Very similar to D&D in some ways....not just slash and kill but you have missions and tasks and you have to do alot of thinking to complete the main quest. Very interesting game....And GREAT graphics !!!

I supose it you if you don't like to have to think too hard and just want to slash and kill...you wouldn't like this game too much.....lol....

I played back in the '70's and early 80's. Got started over in THAT town too...hmmmm...
It was part of my clever ploy to hook my hubby :D
After we were married we regularly had his friends over to play, until one by one they got married and their wives weren't as understanding.

I think I have a rubber maid tub full of the books in my basement..funny dice..heavens only knows what else..

I played D & D in late 70s and early 80s too, when I was stationed in Japan. We would have friends over on the weekends and would play till the sun came up. Gave the books and dice to my sons when they started playing in the 90s. Now they play a game with decks of cards called Magic the Gathering or something like that. My oldest has shoeboxes full of decks. Msouth, Didn't mean to hijack your other thread but the way you were outlining your story you sounded a lot like our old DM from Japan.

Played D&D and AD&D through the 80's. Also played some Marvel Super Heros and Shadow Run and the occasional other game at a convention. Didn't play much in the 90's. Started to play AD&D again a few years back for a year and then everyone kind of got too busy. So it is computer RPG's for me.

My hubby plays Nethack all the time...it's a maplike version of D&D.
We went to a "convention" in Bloominton at Miller park once, and a couple at ICC in East Peoria.
