How any rams could I have i a 5 gallon tank and is there anything else more exotic that could go in there except betta i already have 1 in a seperate tank

If you are talking German Blue Rams they are my favorite, I think that one male would be sufficient. Not too sure if you could get away with a breeding pair, they usually need a 10-20g tank. You may get away with 2 males but if any one with more experience please step in. I keep 2 male and a female, axcidentally of coarse, I thought I had 2 females. They are in a 75g well planted.

I wouldn't keep 2 three inch fish in a 5 gallon tank no matter what they were. That's too small IMO.

Frankly, I know they can and usually are put in 10 gallon + tanks, but I really think a 5 gallon is too small for even one. They do grow to 3".

if youre willing to pay more, you can always go for apistos :thm:

Yeah, better off finding something else for your 5. A blue ram would feel a bit cramped in that.

If you want something different, try shelldwellers (lamprologus brevis). One pair of those can do well in a 5, even though they are about the same size as the rams....they don't travel far from thier shells. Thier territories are only about 6inches in diameter.

or

A nice school of endlers livebearers in a nicely planted tank.
