Hi,
I got 4 blue rams about 3 weeks ago and they all looked fine but then today i noticed one of them was sitting on the bottom of the tank gasping a little. None of my other fish seem affected in anyway, so i removed him to a seperate tank on his own but now im worried about my other fish because the last time i got rams they had ich and it ended up killing everyting in my tank. I also did a water change 2 days ago so its not high Nitrite or nitrate levels. Anyone have any suggestions.

Let me be the first to ask; what size tank, what kind of filter, what are your test results, what else is in the tank, etc......?

how about water changes?
How often?

I too had problems when I first started keeping them and my water wasn't the best. They are sensative and need clean water.

Do you have any idea were thay were breed? The ones from asia are notorious for dying and being very fragile. I have never been able to keep asians alive or anyone else I've talked to for that matter. Right now I have a breeding pair from germany that are doing great. The rams from europe or the states seem to be a lot hardier. If these ones don't make it, next time try to find some from europe.
