I purchased 3 bala sharks today. When I put them in my tank my large angel fish chased them around the tank. I put them in a breeder to seperate them, but one of them is swimming upside down and appears very unhealthy. Should I move the other two out of the breeder? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well in keeping sharks myself I will ask the following...

1) What size tank do you have?
2) What are your water parameters?

I also had 2 sharks that began swimming belly up, unfortunately they both died. Look at this video i made and let me know if the shark you have is doing the same thing.

I At one point had the same problem. Again mine all died within a few days. Not too sure what it is or how to cure it. Without knowing if his illness is contagious its hard to decide. You can stick your other bala's in with the angel and they physically shouldn't harm eachother so your safe there, but the angel may put stress on your bala's which has been known to cause "Ich". It likley won't be noticed or even start to develope for a week. Now from my own experiences, in a 20G Community tank, when my Bala's started to act that way the remaining fish swam away with out harm. So if you leave them all in the breader they shouldn't cause one anothers death. If the others start to do the same its also a good chance that the tank at the store was "sick" so to speak. On a last note you also have to take into consideration how big that breader tank is. I would think anything under 10G would be too small for 3 of them. Fish need about 1G of water per inch of fish, anything less and it gets cozy and stressful again could be a cause of "Ich".
