I'm newer to aquariums, so I'm not an expert by any means. I've been doing a lot of research on filters though, as I'm in the process of setting up my first tank.
The Emperor 400 rated for up to an 80 gallon tank (400gph). I think that filter alone is overkill for your tank.
The Penguin 660 says it's rated at 170gph. I think that alone would do the trick, depending on how you're filtering.
Given both, you've got 570gph filtering on a 29 gallon tank. That seems like going a bit above and beyond what you'd need.
You could probably go with a Penguin 150 or 200 for the entire tank and be safe.
well its been my personal experience that u can never have to much filtration but u can on the other hand have tooooooo much current in the tank so u may want to try using the emporer 400 w/out the power head and see how things go its only a 29 gallon tank so u really dont need that much water circulation.
