Last weekend I went to my LFS and they had a tank full of bamboo shrimp and various bamboo plants. I was just wondering if bamboo actually lives underwater like that and if so what kind of light does it require?

Thanks for your help,
Kyle

But the "bamboo" sold as lucky, etc. is not a bamboo, it is a Dracena.

I've been growing bamboo in my tanks for a couple of years now, they grow slow but I think they are a nice feature.

The stems can go underwater, but the foliage needs to be out of water (like in handy's pic), because it is not a true aquatic plant.
