I currently have 12 Frontosa (2"-4") and 10 Yellow labs (1"-2") in a 125 Gallon tank. Then I have in a 58 Gallon tank 2 yellow compressiceps (2"), 2 white calvis (2"), 2 Ink fin calvis (2"), and (3) black congos.

My two tanks do not seem over crowded, but I plan to move everything to a new 220 to put everything together and so fronts have more room.

My question is what is the best way to move everything.
I have a Fluval 304 on the 58 and two fluval 304's on the 125 and a HOT magnum hang on back filter.

I plan to take down the 58, but leave the 125 running.
Could I take the Fluval 304 from the 58 and (1) 304 from the 125 and put them on the 220 gallon tank and then move all the fish?
OR should I move the 304 from the 58 and the fish from the 58, then wait a week or two and then move the (1) fluval 304 from the 125 and the fish from the 125?
The Fluvals have been running for years, so they are plenty established.

Also I thought about replacing the yellow labs with Lelupi, would this be a good idea? Yellow labs seem kind of hyper and the fronts are more laid back.
It doesn't seem to freak the fronts out now, but I don't know how them would act if I got rid of them?

Thanks.

As long as you are putting established filters on the new tank, I wouldn't worry. If you are adding another canister to either of the big tanks, just split your established sponges so that both canisters have bacterial colonies.

Yes, get those labs out (talk about a turd in a punch bowl). Lelupi would work, or if you have the cash and ambition, why not a dozen or more tropheus?

I agree with mooman, while the yellow contrast to the blue fronts much be awesome, I cant see the fronts enjoying thier company.

You will probebly need to add more filtration to the 220, but like mooman said add the old filters to the tank as well, and seed the new filters with some established sponges.

Are you planning on putting all the Tangs together? If so, I would do it all at once if you can.

I plan on putting (1) 304 from my 58 gal and (1) 304 from my 125.

Do you think it is safe to move all the fish at once?

The (2) Fluvals plenty established (5-6 years).

I could move everything at once, but thought that would be adding too many fish at once, but I will have two established filters.

Maybe I could fill tank, move the filter, and then let it run for a couple of hours and then move them so the water gets cycled thru the filters a little.

What do you think.

Advantage to moving them all at once is that none of the fisheseses will have established territories resulting in a more peaceful territorial resolution.

Are you going to use the substrate from the two established tanks also? I don't see a problem with any of this if you transfer the water, substrate and filters.

Just my opinion.

I don't plan on moving any substrate (getting new gravel).
I just plan on moving both established filters and some water.
