Hi all, im thinking about getting black mollies. i read up some articles about them and they seem like a good choice. Only concern is that I heard they might attack each other? is this true? How many should i get? How big of a tank do they need?
Thanks

I have a few mollies and they dont seem to attack each other. as far as numbers, im pretty sure you can have as many as you want as long as your tank permits it size wise (as to how many you should have, i don't know someone else may be able to help here. you should include your tanks size and any other fish inside of it.)

The only real thing you need to remember is 2 females for every male. Otherwise there will be some bickering, perhaps even death. Which isn't what you want im taking it. If the people in the store dont know, then you can tell the males apart because they will have the longer fins.

Other than that, keep an eye on them for sickness and the such ive had a few mollies that weren't too great but I think it might have been the store I bought them from.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the info. Is a pair ok, that what iv read? And does gender matter with a pair? Saw your 10 gallon tank setup, wondering do you think its overcrowded? I have a 5 gallon and really wanted something like your inhabitants, i currently have 5 guppies, one african dwarf frog. Im going to add 2-3 cory cats, preferably smaller ones. most people say thats it. Im really wishing for 3 zebra danios also, over doing it? Is a 5 gallon too small for danios to swim period?
By the way, the mollies are not going to the 5 gallon...
