i couldn't resist at a yard sale this weekend.

20G acrylic hex tank with light, another standard 20G glass tank, a 1G glass critter tank, two hob filters, 5 airpumps of different makes and models and assorted tank decorations for $10.

the hex tank is in good condition and now i'm wondering what i could put in there. it's 15" wide and 24" tall.

i'm open to any and all suggestions.

Well, hex tanks really are not my favorite. The limited surface area really limits the bio-load, and the shape reduces swimming area dramatically. I'd go with a few guppies and maybe one angel, since it will like the height, and the guppies won't be as impacted by the reduced length.

thx for your response oriongirl.:)

i know i'm limited because i have more vertical space vs. horizontal space and for most freshwater fish, more floorspace is better.

i'm now wondering if this tank would be good for my first try at a marine tank. how about it? anyone out there ever use a taller hex tank for a marine tank? i'd love to hear how it went.
