When I got up this morning, much to my dismay, one of my baby clownfish has disappeared. He and his partner were both swimmingly last night before lights out. This morning only one lonely guy waggling in the corner. I checked the powerheads, the skimmer in box, the floor, and every nook and cranny in the live rock I could see into. God forbid he has died, could he just disappear without a trace. Could the hermits and shrimp have a feast on poor little clowny's remains and we wouldn't find a trace? Is it possible his little body is caught up in the live rock and I will have some sort of disasterous ammonia spike? Or is is possible he is just hiding out? Which is totally unlike him......

Yes, and Yes...

I hate to be so indeciseive, but the truth of the matter is, that if he did die, then they could have polished him off in a matter of hours, especially at night. If he got stuck somewhere and died, his remains could create a spike...

Best thing to do is go looking for him... I hate this, I always seems like once I get happy with my setup, I get a rouge shroom that decides to go on a trip behind the rock where I can't see him...

anyway,
Look for him, and if you don't find him be sure to check parameters often...

Well he showed deep in a hole in the lr. He seems to have staked this out as his new home as he is not coming out. I even fed the tank and he didn't. I hope he's not sick or something but I will watch him carefully. I will tempt him in the morning with some of he favourite formula 1 frozen food soaked in a bit of garlic.....maybe that will bring him out.....The chromis are pigs and suck down every bit of food before it makes it down to the clowns.......any ideas on how to feed them directly?
