I just purchased my multi-colored betta yesterday and he seemed fine. But today I noticed what appears to be a small spot of white fuzz on one side and possibly missing scales. He is eating good and swimming around some but not alot but I don't know if this is normal or not. He doesn't appear to be running into stuff or anything but I didn't know if this is what they call "ich" or something else. Can you help me treat this or where I can go for help? He is in 2.5 gallon tank with bottled drinking water. It normally stays around 75 degrees. His tankmates are 2 gold snails and 1 small cory catfish. They all appear fine. Please HELP!!!!

ICH!!! Go to the petstore and get some ich medicine. Also turn up the heat, he should be in atleast 78 to 80 F. Take out any biological filter when you medicate (if you have any).

ich looks like grains of salt or sugar. It could be cotton fungus instead, which can occur from poor water conditions (like most of them are kept in before we get them). Do a search for both and see what you have. If its cotton fungus, an increase in water changes for a while can often clear it up.
