I currently have a 55 gallon, 48x13x20 with two Jack Dempsey, one green terror, two convicts, one jewel cichlid. three africans, one texas cichlid. They are all about the same size 1.5 inches. I am looking to purchase a larger tank to move some of them. I was looking at a 120 gallon long 60x18x26, or a 120 gallon high, 48x24x24. What would be a better tank for my cichlids? Longer or higher? Price is about the same! :help:

High dosen't matter too much with the JD's, go for the big footprint, length and width so they can have more sqaure footage

You need 2 tanks 1 for your americans and 1 for the africans THEY SHOULD NOT BE TOGETHER!r

I'm most likely to go with the longer tank and put the American's in the bigger tank. Right now I am having no problems with aggression towards each other, still I would like to get the new tank cycled before they get bigger. :look:
