I posted this over at Mojo's.
I figured that I would share my dread here as well.
What a bummer. My 6" male Texas was a victim of my B_stard 7.5" Male JD.
He really beat the living hell out of him. I really don't get it. JD's aren't all that tough but this one is a psycho. He is afraid of nothing. He has even attacked my hand on occasion. This puts his death toll to 5.
The weird thing is that for the last few weeks the Texas was the boss. He was pushing and chasing the JD around the tank. Then I guess something snapped in the JD.
All of a sudden he stopped running and just turned on the Texas. On tuesday night Sandi and I were watching the tank. As usually the Texas was being a bully. Suddenly in mid chase the JD stopped and just turned and went after the Texas. They locked up and 2 days later the Texas is dead with some pretty bad wounds.
They must have gone at it last night. The JD has a couple of deep ones also but is swimming around and eating fine.
I knew that he was a tough one. That is why I chose a Texas as a tankmate. A fish that could hold his own that was the same size.
I am truly bummed right now. The Texas had such great colors and was a really good looking fish.
