Bleeding heart tetra breeding

I have read varied reports but I am wondering if bleeding heart tetras do breed in aquariums? I have seen websites saying that they will and that they won't...

Is there also an easy way to sex the fish?

From what I have read, Mature males have more red on their dorsal fins than the females....In my school, the males are larger then the females as well.
