Well my (wife's) 5g (accent) planted tank finally cycled and I am not too sure as to the micros and macros parameters for a low light tank.

My plants are:
watersprite
windelov
hygro
micranthemum
glossostigma

My fish load is:
6 cardinals
1 beta
1 blue diamond guppy
2 autocinclus
1 panda cory

My parameters have been so far:
Fe(TE) = 0.1
No3 = 5-7
P04 = 1
flourish excel = 0.5ml/day
9w 6700k lamp @ 10 hours/day

Are these macros and micros parameters ok.

thanks in advance,
Terry.

Are you dosing N and P or are they occuring naturally or from the tap?
Those are pretty good numbers. I would let them be and see what the plants tell you.
Watch your N. That's a fairly heavy fish load.

Hey Len,
I'm dosing P (I have zero N & P from the tap), I'm not sure as to how fast they will be absorbed so I will check the parameters at mid week and dose accordingly. The tank just finished cycling as of last Tuesday so except for 1 auto and the beta, they are all new arrivals to the tank. There is definately growth. But in terms of targets I thought they would be good for a low light tank.

With just using excel as a source of carbon, can I get the plants to pearl?

Thanks,

Terry.
