I'm in a little bit of a dilemma. I have a 120 gallon tank, lots of plants, and lots of fish. I have 7 discus in with the fish and was given some beefheart concoction to feed them. they like it, but they didn't eat all of it, so small bits were left around my tank and now i struggle with this white fuzz (looks like fungus) that clings to rocks, plants.... i have upped my water change frequency to try to clean it all up, but it just keeps coming back. my levels are all in check, but i have thius unsightly 'fuzz' at the bottom of the tank. short of tearing my whole tank down, does anyone have any ideas, or suggestions??? thanks, b

Get some cleaner crew going. Cats, shrimp, snails, etc. Something will eat it. Thats my opinion, and it could be wrong.

a Python gravel vac will get that mold you've got sitting on the bottom. a cleanup crew will not eat the mold but may prevent the uneaten food from sitting on the bottom and getting that way.

I agree. It is best to vaccuum up uneaten food right away.

I would advise a cleanup crew. A dozen ghost shrimp can be had for about a dollar or two, and perhaps a few cories would assist in this task... you too can help by feeding smaller amounts to the fish.

As for mold you already have, that must be cleaned out manually. But hopefully the cleaners will prevent future recurrances.

thanks for the tips, i have sae's, flying foxes, cory's, and some rock shrimp in there already, but maybe some cheap ghost shrimp would help....they usually end up as bait though.... time will tell i suppose. :dive2:
