please help a computer moron

I've been trying to post pics of my fish for the last three months and am told the filesizes are too big. I'm using a canon dig. camera scaled down to 640 x 480. I downloaded a picture resizing program by microsoft but when I try to use it nothing happens. When I try to run the program it tries to install again, then tells me it's already installed. I can't fix this stupid thing because my wife hid my fire ax. Somebody please help.

Which progrmam are you using? What have you done to try to resize the pictures?

Hey OG, thanks for the reply. I got it figured out right after I posted the above. I just posted some pics of my breeder angels with a question about egg fungus in 'Ciclids'. If you cruise over that way I could sure use your input. Thanks again.

ps: I've seen HUGE pics posted in stead of linked. How is that possible?

Use http://www.imageshack.us/ to upload the photo. It can resize it for you. And after its uploaded it will show you how to display it as a picture on a forum.

You can use a host like Photobucket (http://photobucket.com/) for linking your photos so they show up in your post. There is no cost for the service. :)

Edit: Looks like Slipknottin beat me to it. :D There are a number of hosts to choose from out there.

Thanks Slip. I tried to use imageshack after it was suggested before and couldn't get it to work. I'm self-taught on this computer stuff since I bought this one last year. Like I said, moron.
