I'd like to add some coloured lighting in the tank. and the little LED spotlights you can get at electronics stores seem just the thing.
Would these disturb the fish if left on 24/7? are there certain colours that fish can't really see (like using red lights for animals)
I bought a small underwater lamp at the fish shop, but it seems to heat the tank up considerably after just a coupl eof hours and I imagine the water in it's local are may get quite hot so I'm not keen on using it.
The LEDs don't give out heat, so 'should' be a better choice unless they're going to annoy the fish.
I'd love to hear what experienced aquarists think/do about the subject.
(the tank has a built in fluoro which I have on during the day)
