gouramis are really cool looking. They come in a variety of colors: red, blue, yellow, pink. They are so cute but they can grow farely large. How big is your tank?

If you have a small one you could always get a betta!!!

Good luck!

Dwarf gourami (red or blue) and tetras would be nice. You could get some red cherry shrimp to clean the bottom too.

make sure you cycle the tank.
you can do a fishless cycle or find some danios and cycle the tank that way.

If I were you, I wouldn't take the danio route because I used to have some blue danios who were quite feisty and mean. They would probably be very mean to fish such as gourami that aren't as fast as they are. Mine bullied each other to no end. They would gang up on one and starve it until it would cower in a cave for days. Then, I would finally catch it and try to nurse it back to health in my 10 gallon. Meanwhile, they would start to bully another. It was heartbreaking to watch. I don't know if all danios are that bad, but mine were. The blue long finned danios sure are pretty, though.
