Hi everyone, first post here. I used to have an eclipse 3 gallon which housed 2 ADFs for about 2yrs but the motor crapped out on me. I ended up replacing the eclipse filter with a mini mechanical filter which was no good. Ended up losing one of the frogs. So today i went out and got an Eclipse 5gal corner tank. Since i had to start out with a new filter and bio wheel, i ended up using some of the old gravel from the first tank and filled the new tank with about 1/3 of water from the old tank as well. Just to be on the safe side, i also added Bio-spira to speed things up. Here's a pic of the new set-up...still need to find a back ground to hide the wires:

This is the first time i've used live plants and i have no idea what kind they are(not the fake one in the back of the tank). I've currently set the 10watt fluorescent bulb to stay on for 9 hours aday. Is this enough to keep the plants alive? Is there anything else i need to do for them (i.e. fertilizers)? Also...say the grassy plant lives and i plant that into the substrate, how should i be cleaning the tank without disturbing their roots? I also recently purchased two ADF's but they are waaaay smaller than the old guy and one had their arm broken by him while being mistaken for food and died. I moved the other one into a smaller tank for now and am trying to bulk it up with some blood worms before I put him in the new tank. Another weird thing about the baby ADF is it never stays at the bottom...always floating. Can anyone be so kind as to offer me some advice on keeping those two plants alive...or suggestions for what other kind of plants would be good for my tank? Also, any general tips on improviny my tank would be greatly appreciated. -thanks,
-joe
