Ok, I know Java fern propogates itself by growing little plants off its leaves. My question is when do you pull the little plant off the leaf before planting it? How big do you let it get?
I ask because I have some little plants growing from my leaves now and am not sure what to do with them

I, too, have this going on with my newly aquired Java Fern. Anyone know when to plant them? Do we just tuck it into the substrate for a while, first? Or do we remove it, then plant them? How large before doing either method?
I have roots hanging off several of my JF leaves where they are propogating (4 different large root systems developing). Is this normal? I thought it was a type of thread algae or something at firtst, but they are brown with tiny hair folicles on them, 2 or 3 inches long (roots).
