Yesterday I put in some new plants (Vallis) and a UV sterilizer. Checked the tank this morning and 4 fish have died! They were all fine yesterday. Its a 125 Litre tank, planted with a CO2 reator. There was a very brief powercut last night, after the tank lights had gone off.

The water is fine and checked regularly.
Could it have been an electric shock? The fish were all found at the bottom of the tank caught up amongst the plants. The air pump had been switched off.

Thanks for your help.

If you are running the CO2 at night and are using an air pump, most likely they died from a lack of O2.

What is your CO2 ppm? Do you run the air pump during the day or just at night?
