Is it safe to windex the outside of a glass tank? If not, what do you use to make it nice and clean?
Windex is great for outside aquarium glass, I use it all the time.
Spray it on your cloth and then wipe, keeps the mist form entering the tank.

Why risk it? A tiny amount of windex can crash your bio-filter and poison your entire stock of fish.
Good old H2O works fine.

You could also use plain ammonia (no soaps/surfactants.) Put it on a cloth and then wipe the glass.

HI, Windex is fine but be VERY careful. Spray it well away from the tank. Try using water with a bit of vinegar mixed in. It works well. Not to much vinegar though or your room will smell like a french fry stand !!!
2 wet white paper towels, and 3 dry ones. Clean, and safe.
Use the wax on wax off method. :D

I always just spray a little right on the glass and have yet to have a problem. If you have a top/cover on your aquarium you should be ok. You only need like one little squirt anyways.
