My impeller for my filter is broken, and i dont think you can get a replacement for it...

Its off a Wardley: The Sand Man MS Filter.

Well the magnet pet dosnt stay on the shaft, because the little plastic thing that holds it down broke off.

Now i was wondering if just some simple aquarium sillicone can fix it?

Cant wait to test out this filter, its so high tech compaired to other HOB filters.

Thanks

Silicone isn't strong enough. I don't believe Wardley is a manufacturer but rather a brandname just like Craftsman and Kennmore don't build anything. If you can find the true manufacturer that may help. If it is made by a common manufacturer of other magnetic pumps you might be able to match it up visually if your lfs, has a good selection of filter parts. However this is a tricky "long shot" as subtle differences can be the difference between one that works and one that doesn't. You have to have yours with you to compare all dimensions, and design of each component.

I looked up those filters, and although they are discontinued, it was a pretty neat idea to incorporate a small fluidized bed filter in an all-purpose HOB.

There are a couple of them on ebay now, so you might be just as well off buying a replacement as you might be tracking down an impeller. I believe Wardley's is a part of Hartz and you could contact Hartz and see if they can send you an impeller. Heck, if you get on the phone with a very helpful customer service person, they might just send you a box of impellers just to get them out of the warehouse.

You could try the generic impeller thing, just be sure to take the one you have with you for comparison. WHen I bought my used tank and accessories, everything was all nice and clean, but for some reason, the guy put all the impellers for everything in one bag, and it took a while to figure out which would work in what. Some equipment would work in anything, but one picky piece of equipment would only work with one certain one.

Haha yeah i would love to buy another filter from ebay, but i just got this from ebay =p

I msged the seller about it and hes trying to figure out what to do.

Well i put some sillicone on both ends of the magnet, and some on the shaft. Holds togeather pretty well.

But if that dosnt work, i notice the impeller is a free spinning type, meaning it dosnt mount to the intake pipe or another shaft holding it in place...weird

And i havent found info anywhere on this type of filter...

Thanks

i've used impellars from other filters on one of my pengium 330's, in the 5 years i've had it the impellars broke 3 times, ive used one from a cascade, and i forget which other

you could probably buy another one that looks similar, it would probably work
