I have a 38 gal tank tat has been running since late December. Currently I have 2 Blue (Three spotted) Gourami's, 1 Common Pleco, 2 Upside-Down Catfish, 1 Rainbow Shark, and 3 Bleeding Heart Tetras (used to be four, but I found one ripped to shreds today not sure who the culprit was). I've been wanting to add a Hammer's Blue Lobster but I don't want it to kill my other fish. Are there any fish that I can add or have I reached my limit? I was looking at possibly more Bleeding Heart Tetras or Emperor Tetras... but I'm def open to suggestions! Thanks in advance.

Joe

Edit: Oh yea, BTW I have a Penguin 200 Filter, AquaClear 50 Powerhead w/quick filter attachment, Stealth heater, Whisper 60 air pump (a little overkill but I though I was going to get a 55 gal tank before getting this tank).

I'd return the common pleco to the LFS and replace it with one that will not get too big. Then you'd have a chance of adding a few more fish.
I'de rather not return him, it has been a while from when I bought him, plus I'm quite fond of him and the 2 Gouramis they are my only survivors of a bad ich infestation brought on by a previous Rainbow Shark.

Joe,

Please read this info on plecos.

I have a 16inch pleco. 38g is not enough room, no matter how much you want to keep him.

I was under the impression they only get about 10" at most, or at least the thats what the local Petco led me to believe... well only another reason with I no longer do my aquarium business with them. How long does it take for a plec to get to those sizes? I havent seen mine grow that much (compared to my Gouramis and Tetras).

My pleco is about 1 1/2 years old and is 16 inches at last measure!
