Ok this is my new stocking list for my 55 gallon. Im going to spend some time looking at these fish at my LFS to see their behavior so i can buy peacefull ones. Smile
1-Firemouth
1-Female Green Terror
1-Pl*co
any other fish i can put in there that will get along with the fish ot the list above??
I would really like some suggestions...?
.
For a green terror a single fish could be kept in a 55g with company but upon maturity that could be a problem. 75g is best way to go for a single fish with tank mates or a breeding pair.

Silver Dollars will work with most cichlids, but they also get pretty large. I like the Multispinosa (that IS what you mean by rainbow, right?). The one I have is about 3.5-4 inches, is a very active swimmer, and holds its own with mild cichlids. Firemouths are pretty variable in temperament, so it's hard to say how much of a problem one would be. The one I have is not a problem. I don't have experience with Acaras, but they can get pretty big!
I think the first decision you have to make is how much aggression you can bear in the tank, and how big you want the fish to grow. I have a 75g, and went with fish that will (mostly) max out around 6" (I purposely got females in species that grow larger). I went for "mild" cichlids and got them small enough that they would grow out together (except for the firemouth which a friend was getting rid of - I took a chance on that one because he was so striking). I used barbs (rosy and tiger) for dithers because they are so active and have great shoaling patterns.
I have a 6" nic that rules the tank, the 5" firemouth, a 5" brasiliensis, 4" severum (rottkeil), the multi, and a 3" honduran red point, along with the barbs and some clowns.
