Bristle nose or bushy nose plecos?

All the lfs around me have "bushy nosed" plecos. I've never heard of "bushy nosed" plecos around here, and I was just wondereing if they are the same as the "bristle nosed" pleco. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but there are so many plecos I just want to be sure. Thanks.
 
Yes they are the same thing. I have heard of them being called both anyways. I have three of these. Only the males get bristles. These are very hardy plecos and are sutible for nearly every setup.
 
Agree that they are the same fish, slightly different local common names.

Males in general have more and more brached bristles than the female of the same species, but females of many species do have bristles and can have lots of them - females of some species have more than the males or some other species. That is not a definitive secondary sexual characteristic except when compared within the same species.
