I have a 55g tank with a 5" Tiger Oscar and a 3" Midas cichlid. They seem to really like eachother is this unusual? they spend all there time digging and roaming the tank together. I put another oscar in when i put the midas in and they killed it. whats up????

I wouldn't say this is unusual. Oscars seem to be friendly with other fish when juveniles. The third fishes fate was sealed before it even entered the situation.
I wouldn't expect the relationship to last. Even though both fish will grow around the same speed, the midas will soon start establishing its dominance and that oscar won't be pretty no more!

That is all.

Yeah Swordfish is right. Once they start to mature from juveniles the Midas will annihilate the oscar, even if the oscar is twice its size.

i heard that oscars can be with a fish if they are togehter from the beginning and grow togehter....they sorta create a friendship bondage.......my buddy has an oscar with a gourammi....if the oscar wanted to he could swallow it right up

Well, oscar might not see the gourami as a meal, but the midas is going to see the oscar as invading it's territory.

perhaps they have decided to PAIR up??? & then u can produce your own hybrid. otherwise, your oscar couldn't possibly survive w/the midas.
