I am in the process of making a suspended hood for one of my tanks and in the past I have always just painted the underside of canopies. But this time I wanted something a little better.
I purchased a 10' roll of alum. flashing. cut it to length and scored lines to bend it with a pocket knife then I took my buffing wheel and some Tripoli compound I spent about 2 hours buffing and now I have a 7' mirror. Then I place it on my work bench and clamped a straight edge on top and made the bends to fit into my hood. A break would have made this step a little easier.
I am amazed at the results and my add this to my other hoods in the future. Not sure it any one else had tried this or not but it is defiantly worth the effort so I am passing it on.
