hey evry one
i just wanted to warn evryone about mixing angels and neons COS THEY DONT
I put 5 angles in with my 25 small neons and cardinals and at the end of the week (i was on holidays) i only had 14 left.
So learn from my mistakes!!

I found that wild caught discus will eat neons too, it has something to do with them sleeping on the bottom of the tank.

They are from S America, there are several types that are nearly impossible to breed so you have to buy fish that were wild caught. The down side is they are smaller and can carry lots of problems (parasites etc) into your tank... plus they can go for $100-$200 each for small fish.

Makes sense Neons and Angels don't mix. Afterall, Angels prey on Neons in the wild as a food source. ;)

Nobody told me!!

I have an angel, and bought 12 neons -- I have 8 left. I know what happend
although did not see it.

However, the 8 remaining and the angel seem just fine -- they swim around each
other and nobody bothers anyone -- been that way for a month now.

If I can convince my wife that I need another tank, I will get maybe a 50g and
move neons and other small things to that just to be safer though.

I have had two angels for about a year now. When I first got them, their bodies were about the size of a quarter. Now their bodies are a little larger then silver dollars.

Their tank mates include: 8 glowlites, 2 black skirt tetras, 2 scissortail rasboras and 1 black neon.

I have never seen the angels go after the glowlites or neon. I am not sure if it because they grew up with them. I think what really helps is I feed them twice a day with a variety of foods; including: Bloodworms, Plankton, Brine Shrimp & Flakes.

I bet if I did not feed them for a week or so, they might start to look at their tank mates as food.

Best of luck!!
