Please :help: !

This question is regarding my 10 gal which contains one male betta, four serpae tetras, one ramshorn snail, one golden mystery snail, and one striped apple snail (it was set up in October).

I am leaving town for the weekend and this morning I discovered a clump of small (about 1/8 inch) white eggs in a filmy sac attached to the corner of the tank. The eggs are attached about 2" below the waterline.

First, can you tell me if these are snail eggs or fish eggs?

Second, can you give me an idea how long will it take them to hatch (they were laid last night.)

Third, if I decide to keep them in the tank, should I go ahead and try to clean the water (I was going to vacuum out about 3 gallons and do a partial change) or should I let the tank go (it's been 5 days since the last 2/3 water change.)

Lastly, if I decide to remove them from the tank before they hatch, is there a technique for moving the egg sac to another tank? What should I feed them if they hatch?

THANK YOU!

Sounds like snail eggs...sorry

Just let them be and they will be fine. No special food.

If you don't want to be over run with snails remove the sac

they are most likely ramshorn eggs. Not sure hw long it will take them to hatch. No need to do an additional water change as your stocking density is on the low side (although it NEVER hurts).

My snails lay eggs like that. It looks like a clear mucous mass with white dots. I never watch them closely enough to see how quickly they hatch, but they certainly do based on the little babies in my quarrantine tank that I feed to my clown loaches as a treat.

When they hatch, the snails will just eat algae off of the tank surfaces. You don't need to do anything at all for them to grow.

I guess if I wanted them to survive, I would hold off on this water change to prevent them from drying out when the water level goes down briefly. You don't have a lot of creatures in that aquarium so the water quality should be just fine if you waited a few more days.
