It grew from a bulb that looks like a dark lump of wood. It matched the color of my driftwood and the leaves were a nice color, so I placed it next to my driftwood. I thought that it would grow like a vine along the driftwood. It started off small and then the leaves grew larger and it started traveling from the bulb and sprouting off smaller plants along the substrate that I was able to transplant to another tank. The leaves are soft and very thin. My snails seem to love them. I really like this plant but can't find any matching pictures or information on it. I am also trying to get rid of the snails because they are ruining the leaves. Here are some pictures:

Can anybody tell me what this plant is? I checked Plantgeek and couldn't find it there. :read: Anyone?

did you get the bulbs at walmart in a little package?

its a lilly. not sure what kind. i have some too. they sprout out of the bulb then have a little node where they drop down roots and grow leaves? can't be more specific then that, but if you go to walmart and look at the little packages of bulbs they have, it should say on the back what kind it is.

I believe it is a type of lotus.

ghinksmon,
You are the third person that said that it is a Lotus and you have supplied the best picture. That is exactly what it looks like. That must be what it is. Thank you.

No, I did not get them at Walmart. I got it from the LFS. They didn't know what it was either.

It doesn't seem as demanding as Plantgeek says. I did have a floater. It died though. I don't know why. The plant is living well, but some leaves die for what seems to be no reason. I would like to see a flower. :)
