I have a 29Gl tank with 2 guppies, 1 molly, 2 platies, 4 danios, 3 red eye tetras, 1 algae eater. they are less than 1 and 1/2 inch
I'd like to add a bigger fish, by 2 and half inchs or 3.
I like Helostoma temminckii (kisser gourami) but i read they're aggressive with the community.
i thought about a little scalar but they can be aggressive
i read about harlequins but they are small.
i don't like coridoras
what do u recommend me?

pd: ph: around 7, amonia and nitrites cero.
My tests kit just has ph, amonia, nitrites and nitrates.

One of the larger size gouramis might be nice depending on how aggressive they can be. I think either a pearl, blue or gold gourami would do ok in that mix....I think the pearl is the less aggressive of those, but check up on that.

Kissing gouramis get way too big for a 29 tank BTW...so don't feel bad about not getting one of those...lol.

You might be able to keep one or two angels in there...I have two angels in my 29 with a pair of blue rams, some pristella tetras and a kuhlii loach. They all seem to be getting along nicely so far, but I put the angels in when they were quarter size...they are now larger than a half dollar and still get along with everyone...but they aren't yet fully grown and I'm not sure if they'll ever "turn" on me or not....lol...just have to wait and see. I guess angels would be risky, but you could give it a try if you don't mind finding another home for them if they don't work out.

thank for your comments :hi:

i bought 2 gouramies and 2 rainbow today :duh: i added to my tank and they looks paceful. i was afraid to add the rainbows but they're pretty

Any experience with Macropodus opercularis (Paradise fish), i saw them in the petshop but i was afraid to buy them 'cause i didn't know their profile

Do you recommend me to add 1 paradise fish??

i read that the paradise fish is very aggresive so i won't add them to my tank.
what do u think abouth the tetras with long fins??? do u recommend me to add two more dwarf gouramies???

before you add any more fish look at what you have stocked.

2 guppies, 1 molly, 2 platies, 4 danios, 3 red eye tetras, 1 algae eater.
plus you added 2 dwarf gourami's and 2 rainbow fish correct?
what species of algae eater did you get?

you could be closing in on the stock level..

Rainbowfish are schooling fish and need to be in groups of six or more. What kind of rainbowfish did you get? Some of them grow very large.

Gyrinocheilus aymonieri is a Chinese algae eater. They can get fairly large and aggressive. They've been known to attack fish when they reach maturity. IMO you should take him back.
